Pictures of Ecco (I'm a Gramma, whaddu 'spect?)

None of these have Hillary in them, but ya'll remember what she looks like, right? Ecco was 3 months old yesterday. Doesn't she look like her Daddy? I love the 'shadow' photo, Hillary took it of a good friend of their's holding Ecco looking at at the sights of Breckenridge! Layla and Cheech both love Ecco, but Cheech is ready for the snow to melt... ME TOO!!!!

Flatland Ramblers Gig First Cup Cafe May 2007

Here is a video shot last year at the first gig the Flatland Ramblers (in the current formation, that is, with Donna, Craig and myself) at the First Cup Cafe in Des Moines. We had several Hardcores that came out that night... remember?

Lunar Eclipse photo from last nite

Here's a shot from last nite. We went to Ashton but that was a big mistake as it was clear here in Des Moines and clouded out up there. This I took from my driveway right at the end of totality, you can just start to see the sunlight hitting the bottom right of the moon. It was a pretty site with Saturn(lower left) and the bright star Regulus (above) all just sitting there in the sky. Click on photo for large version.

Frosty Frisbee

Just a reminder that this saturday is Cody's Birthday - but more importantly it is Frosty Frisbee at the Cabin in Madrid.

Hope to see all of you there, with food and hugs!

Bean is in Virginia setting up for a quilt show after pulling the trailer through the mountains by herself. She then travels to New Jersey for another show just outside of NYC before before returning to Iowa the first week in March. She earns our daily bread the hard way. Meanwhile, I howl at the moon. And, hang with you, Hardcore Campers, at Frosty Frisbee to assauge my loneliness. She recently turned from her grief to her creativity to make a memorial quilt dedicated to her brother, John. Some of the quotes from her "Survivor's Prayer" panel help me, too, with sorting out loss of beloved HCC brothers and sisters. Peace. Mike

Thanks Stan

Thanks Stan,
If I can post pics right to the page, that would be easier than on the email. It might take me awhile to get the hang of it. Bob and Connie Roberts were not on the Backbone email list and have to rely on Lance's forwards, so Paul wrote to Phil Dean to add them in. You may want to send the invite to the Blog to their email address: blroberts@mchsi.com.

From Paul & LinDa: Traveling in Casa Grande area

Feb 18th travel report.
Today's pics are from our evening with Bob and Connie Roberts at the "Gallopin Goose", where Waylon Jennings got his start.
#68 LinDa, Paul,Connie, Bob
#88 Paul talking to Connie and other snowbirds
#89 sunset out the back of Gallopin Goose
#91 Gallopin Goose
The Gallopin Goose is a local hangout outside of Coolidge. There must have been at least 30 park residences there eating while we were there. The place fills up every night and the gals really have their hands full. LinDa sure enjoyed her hot wings and Paul and Bob got the Monday night special half pound Cheeseburger and fries. Connie had a small dinner salad as they had went with a group for lunch at the "Organ Stop Pizza" in Masa. Another cool atmosphere joint we haven't went to, but have heard from several folks, it is a MUST stop if you are in the area.
Bob and Connie have their toybox 5th wheel parked about 10 miles east of Casa Grande in a small park of about 400. Felt like we were pulling in the Backbone State Park, but on a desert scale. We are learning and appreciating the deserts beauty more and more each day, especially when we are seeing how Iowa is getting hammered with the snow. We agree that we need more Hardcore's here.
Bob is getting to do a lot of Harley riding and has met a lot of riders to ride with. I believe they are riding to Nogales (mexico border) on the 19th. Connie has been working on a lot of quilt projects. As all snowbirds, the days are filled with plenty to do and see.
I think today the 19th we are hanging out at the outside pool and get some sun and book reading done.
Love and Hugs
LinDa and Paul
